BACKGROUND
Daniel Farnsworth, Founder and CEO
Daniel’s lifelong passion for music began at age 6, when he learned the drums By age 11, he was an extremely skilled drummer, played with other musicians, and began looking around to see what instrument he wanted to learn next. He moved on to the acoustic guitar, then the electric guitar, and not long after the recording bug hit. He used a cassette recorder to set up his first primitive recoding equipment and began to try his hand at arranging.
Daniel moved on to high school, where he learned bass guitar, the cello, and advanced techniques on the electric guitar like metal and shred. He took classes in music theory, joined the band as well as the orchestra, and played live wherever he could. He started writing his own music.
“100% PASSION IN EVERY NOTE”
After high school Daniel started working with digital audio workstations and multitrack recording. He enrolled in local community college classes to learn more recording and music production techniques.
At 19 he jumped into music production at Tribeca Flashpoint college in Chicago and acquired a new depth and breadth of knowledge about studio recording. He even produced his own EP of solo music which would end up making an impression on a future employer!
He landed a staff position Gravity Studios as a recording engineer and producer, and his solid professional experience with recording began. At Gravity, he worked with artists like Shea Couleé and On Division. He moved into mixing there, adding another technical skill to his tool kit. He started to dream about having his own recording studio, and made it happen.
“DF Sounds Is here because I realized I can provide the skills and services I use for my own music for others,” says Daniel. “I can help you make the best productions and exceed your every expectation.”
Even after he launched DF Sounds, Daniel continues working as a part time music teacher at Bach 2 Rock in Arlington Heights, IL, knowing how important a good teacher can be in developing skills.
